Fairy Sculptures

These mixed-media fairy sculptures are inspired by archetypes and stories I grew up with as a little girl, such as princesses, or characters from ballets or fairytales. Many incorporate wings or attire inspired by certain butterfly or moth species and aspects of their native habitat or the surrounding culture of countries in which they are commonly found. I use a mixture of clay, fabric, paint, doll hair, paper-mache, and faux florals in these hanging mobile pieces.
